ABOUT THE TEACHERS
For Steve and Sandy Langton, tango is much more than a dance - it's a passion. If dancing is the highest form of nonverbal communication, then no other dance communicates with the intimacy and complexity of Argentine Tango. To improve their own dancing and teaching, they have studied with a host of tango masters both in the U.S. and in Argentina . As teachers, their goals are to have fun, make tango accessible, and help others find their own inner passion.

About the Pittsburgh Tangueros
The Pittsburgh Tangueros, a nonprofit dance club dedicated to Argentine Tango in its many forms, is an outgrowth of the founding circle of Pittsburgh tango students. Tango was introduced to Pittsburgh in the early 1990s by Lynn Baumeister and a few other dancers from the Coal Country Traditions group.
Michael Wizer became entranced, making excursions to tango workshops in Manhattan. Michael began teaching tango at the Carnegie Museum and at the Wilkins School Community Center, with Linda Jeub as his partner. When Michael relocated to Cincinnati in 1996, Linda and Ed Goytia developed the curriculum on which current classes are based.
The dance attracted a number of devotees in Pittsburgh, some of whom have developed their own teaching expertise, including Joao Sousa, Caroline Goytia, Katrina Zeno, Fran and Zoey Pionati, Trini Regaspi, Sean Cosgrove, and Donald Hsu (now in Hong Kong). Ed Goytia, who began dancing in 1995, relocated to Manhattan in 1999, where he teaches and performs in professional tango shows.
Formally organized in 1997 under Coal Country Traditions' nonprofit umbrella, the Pittsburgh Tangueros offer regular classes for beginning tango, as well as specialized classes on an ad-hoc basis. In 2002, the Pittsburgh Tangueros became a corresponding academy of the National Tango Academy of Argentina.
The Pittsburgh Tangueros are available for:
-Private lessons
-Demonstrations
-Guest teaching for groups and organizations
